Tencel® is a brand name used by Lenzing for lyocell fibres. The fibre is known for its soft feel and moisture management properties, which can help maintain comfort when worn against the skin.
Lyocell is a regenerated cellulosic fibre made from wood pulp sourced from controlled or certified origins. It is produced using a closed-loop process designed to recover and reuse water and solvents.
Compared to conventional viscose production, the lyocell process is designed to use fewer chemicals and to minimise emissions to air and water.
As a cellulosic fibre, Tencel® can biodegrade under certain conditions and may be recyclable where suitable systems exist. Tencel® is a trademark of Lenzing AG.
